Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of hotter-than-normal weather nationwide, except for near- or below normal temperatures in the middle and northern Atlantic States.
Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal conditions in much of the eastern U.S. and from the Four Corners region to the central Plains should contrast with below-normal precipitation in much of the south-central U.S. and the Intermountain West.
