Organized rainfall will remain scarce into the weekend, when a conduit will become established between the Southwestern monsoon circulation and a series of cold fronts crossing the northern U.S. Little or no rain will fall during the next 5 days in the south-central U.S. and the Far West, but totals could reach 1 to 2 inches or more in several areas, including the Four Corners States, central Plains, Ohio Valley, Midwest, and Northeast. Widely scattered thundershowers will dot the Southeast.
