A strong cold front will push slowly across the eastern half of the nation.  Showers will accompany the front as it crosses the Corn Belt on Wednesday before reaching the Atlantic Coast states Thursday.  Concurrently, southerly winds ahead of the front will lead to increasing shower chances across the Gulf Coast states, but no organized storms are in the offing — particularly over Florida.  Behind the front, mostly dry, breezy, and chilly weather will prevail, though lake-effect rain and even snow showers are likely downwind of the Great Lakes.
