It’s a quiet start for direct cash cattle trade activity.  Buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory and bids and asking prices have yet to be established.  This week could prove to be interesting as many will want to wrap up business early ahead of the long holiday weekend, but the USDA’s latest Cattle on Feed numbers come out Friday afternoon.  Deals last week in the South were at mostly $155 live, steady to $.50 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages.
