The storm system currently exiting the Midwest will reach northern New England late Friday. Aside from lingering snow showers in the Great Lakes and Northeastern States, dry weather will follow the storm’s departure. Meanwhile, a trailing disturbance will maintain unsettled conditions in the Southeast and mid-Atlantic through the weekend, with rain and wet snow possible. In fact, late-week and weekend precipitation totals could reach 2 to 4 inches or more across the lower Southeast, from western Florida to parts of the Carolinas.
