A light direct cash cattle trade is underway across the bulk of cattle country.  Live deals in the South are at $164 and in Eastern Nebraska at $164, both are $1 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages.  Asking prices are firm around $166-plus live in the South and $265-plus dressed in the North.  Look for additional business to develop over the balance of the week.  Wednesday’s Fed Cattle Exchange had an offering of 1,002 head, none of which sold.
