At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were higher ahead of widespread direct cash business. Feeders had additional support from the lower move in corn. June live cattle closed $1.50 higher at $163.92 and August live cattle closed $1.47 higher at $161.55. August feeder cattle closed $3.02 higher at $226.12 and September feeder cattle closed $3.00 higher at $229.65.
It was another quiet day for direct cash cattle business. Bids weren’t floated and asking prices were slow to surface.
