The focus for significant shower activity will briefly shift to the Midwest, where mid- to late-week rain should provide much-needed moisture for reproductive corn and soybeans.
Five-day Midwestern rainfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches, except in the northern Corn Belt. Meanwhile, mostly dry weather will prevail through week’s end in the West, as well as southern and western Texas, although monsoon-related showers may begin to develop in parts of Arizona and New Mexico.
