Direct cash cattle trade is still relatively quiet. Bids have resurfaced in the North at $292 dressed, but the rest of cattle country has been quiet. In fact, the South has been at a standstill. Asking prices are around $180 to $182 live in the South and $294 plus dressed in the North. There has been some scattered business that’s developed throughout the week. Deals in the North were at mostly $292, about $3 lower than the prior week’s weighted averages.
