Deer have become a serious problem for cattle producers in parts of Minnesota.
Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association president Jake Thompson says deer depredation is a priority going into the 2024 legislative session.
“It didn’t matter if I was up in (northern) Minnesota or down in Pipestone (in southwest) Minnesota, we heard a lot about that during our annual meetings last year of how much damage deer did on stored feedstuffs.”
He tells Brownfield deer trample and eat forage while contaminating feed.
