Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack is urging Congress to fully fund the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
During a call with reporters Thursday, the Secretary said WIC is critical to providing nutrition and health support for those in need. “Of the 6.7 million participants, which is up about 400,000 from a year ago,” he says. “Over 3.6 million of those are children, 1.5 million infants, and 1.5 million women are beneficiaries under this program.”
