The ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee says the next farm bill is coming together, despite a few roadblocks.

John Boozman tells Brownfield his concern isn’t about partisanship or getting a farm bill across the finish line this election year, only that the new farm bill is “done right.”

“It’s going to take as long as it takes,” he says. “But we’re not going to have a new farm bill unless we have meaningful change that will give farmers the tools they need moving forward.”

Last week, Senate Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow sent a letter outlining her priorities to the committee, which included a boost for the escalator provision for reference prices in the Price Loss Coverage program.
