Mild, tranquil weather will continue across much of the country for the remainder of the week, with record-setting warmth expected to continue across portions of the High Plains. East of the Rockies, only a fast-moving disturbance will interrupt the quiet pattern; that system will generate rain and snow showers while diving from the Great Lakes region on Tuesday to the middle Atlantic Coast by mid-week. West of the Rockies, however, increasingly stormy weather will prevail, starting Tuesday night and early Wednesday along the northern Pacific Coast.
