Direct cash cattle trade activity is off to a very typical, quiet start to the week as buyers and sellers are preparing for the week ahead. Bids and asking prices have yet to surface. It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek or later. Last week – Southern live deals were marked at $183 to $188, mostly $186, $2 lower than the prior week’s weighted averages. Northern dressed business had a lower range, of $297 to $302, mostly $298 to $300, down $2 to $3 from the prior week’s weighted averages.
