Tranquil weather will prevail across much of the country for the remainder of the week, accompanied by a general warming trend in areas that are starting the week on a cool note. However, some additional freezes can be expected across the North, especially during the mid- to late-week period from the upper Midwest into the Northeast. Most areas of the country will receive less than an inch of rain during the next 5 days, with completely dry weather expected along the Gulf Coast, in the southern Atlantic States, and from southern California to the southern Rockies.
