Marshalltown Public Works Director Heather Thomas joined the KFJB line yesterday morning for Ask the Newsmakers and she talked about all of the construction happening across Marshalltown. She gives an update to the Center and Main Street project that kicked off at the beginning of the month.

Phase 1 is Center Street from the Church St intersection to State St. Thomas says they are also doing some vault work that has ripped up part of the sidewalk

Thomas has mentioned on KFJB she was not sure what they would find underneath center and main street. They did find some old trolly tracks

Phase 1 is expected to be finished in August and then they will move to Phase 2 which will go 1 block east on Main St.
