Households with children need to practice different emergency situations, as you never know when an emergency will strike. One of the scenarios people should practice is making the 9-1-1 phone call. Marshall County 911 Communication Director, Rhonda Braudis, gives some tips on working with children.
She says it is important for children to know when it is appropriate to call 9-1-1
Braudis says they have the occasional child call 911 for help with their homework, and that is cute. But calling 9-1-1 will tie up a line that could be helping another person. She suggests to talk with children at least once a year about when to call 9-1-1.
