Tonight marks the beginning of the postseason for Marshalltown Boys soccer as they’ll travel to Ankeny Centennial to take on the Jaguars. This is not a matchup that favors the Cats, or at least not historically as Marshalltown has fallen in each of the last 6 meetings since 2014. The most recent meeting in 2022 was a 4-0 shutout for Centennial. Tune in to the match tonight to see if the Cats can snap the streak and advance in the postseason as kickoff is set for 7:00pm. You can catch all the action live with voice of the Bobcats Brandon Lewis on the KFJB TV YouTube and Facebook pages.

Last year the Bobcat baseball team took home a win just five times. Tonight against the Newton Cardinals, they’ll look to start the season 4-0. It’s been quite the drastic turnaround from last year’s team as they’ve already picked up a pair of blowout wins against Des Moines North, scoring 40 runs in two games, and also gotten a defensive clinic from pitcher Zander Stupp in a 5-1 win over North Tama. They’ll need all that and more as they look to right the ship against Newton, a team who has shut out the Bobcats each of the last two times they’ve played.

While baseball looks to continue their hot start, the Marshalltown Softball team will look to get the ball rolling tonight as they open the season against the Newton Cardinals. Last year the Cats lost the opener to Newton 7-2 at home. The Cats’ gained plenty of experience last year with a very young roster, and that will be no different this year as the Cats will line up with just three total upperclassmen. They’ll be put to the test early with the Newton game tonight and a doubleheader tomorrow against Waterloo East.
