Yesterday the Marshalltown Community School District announced that a teacher has passed away unexpectedly and there is support for students. Bryan Wagschal, a respected and dedicated educator at Marshalltown High School passed away Monday morning. Mr. Wagschal taught social studies and financial literacy at the high school and started with the district in 2021. Mr. Wagschal will be remembered with great respect and affection.
High School Principal Justin Boliver said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to Mr. Wagschal’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. In times like these, we lean on one another for comfort and strength. Mr. Wagschal’s legacy will continue through the countless students and staff he inspired.”
Support services are available for both staff and students. The school says they also have the Central Rivers AEA Crisis Response Team on site for counseling needs. Finally, grief counseling is accessible the rest of this week in the Marshalltown High School media center.
