There may not be a person in Marshalltown who loves to have fun more than Marshalltown Fire Chief, Christopher Cross. While Chief Cross loves fun, he also appreciates safety. With the new State Law allowing people to shoot off fireworks July 3rd and 4th, Chief Cross wants everyone to keep all 10 fingers.
Chief Cross says it is good practice to always have something to extinguish fires when using fireworks. Even a smoldering sparkler can cause issues, a great place to discard them is in a bucket of water.
People should start to see the firework shops pop up this month and when firing them off to celebrate Independence Day, Chief Cross wants people to do so safely.
