Story Medical is giving back again this summer and providing food for youth in the Collins-Maxwell area.  Last year, Story Medical was the first hospital in the State of Iowa to do a Summer Feeding program and they have already started again for this summer.

That is Dietitian for Story Medical, Anna Riley.  She shares that they targeted the Collins-Maxwell School District due to the high numbers of reduced and free lunches.  They will be offering 2 picks ups each week until the end of August.

Finally, their last stop will be in Collins at Collins-Maxwell Elementary School from 12:15 – 12:45.  Riley says this program is open to anyone under the age of 18.  Story Medical does have people register when they pick up food so they can be aware of how many people will be picking up food.

Riley says the staff at Story Medical are again volunteering their time to make this program happen.  The kitchen staff will stay an extra couple hours to prep the meals.  Learn more about this program at storymedical.org
