Following a pair of blowout wins to start the year over Des Moines North, the Bobcats would look to do the same on Monday night, but the Polar Bears kept it much closer this second time around. The Cats took home game one primarily on the defensive efforts of shortstop Sam Greazel who held up his end of the bargain, leading to a 9-3 victory. Game two started out great for the Cats who pounced on the Polar Bears early, going up 6-0 through 3, but North would not go quietly into the night. Rattling off four runs in the 4th and 5th had it at 7-4. The Polar Bears would then get the bases loaded down to their final out in the 7th with the tying run at first, but Sam Greazel came in to shut it down on the mound and the Cats survived to pick up the sweep. With the two victories, the Cats surpassed their win total from all of last year and now sit at 6-13 on the year.
