The Marshalltown Area United Way has been thinking outside of the box this year for their annual campaign. Executive Director, Kendra Sorenson, shares that their Co-Chairs this year, Robert Maharry and Maria Gonzalez-Alvarez, came up with a traveling toilet fundraiser.
People may have seen these toilets around town in peoples’ front yard. People can pay to have the toilet put in their neighbors or friends’ yard, or pay to never have the toilet come back.
This week, when the crew was out early in the morning ready to move the toilets to the next houses, they were unable to find one of the toilets.
Sorenson says this situation stinks as this removes a fourth of their ability to fundraise through this unique fundraiser. She is now calling on the community
People can also give any information to the United Way Office by calling 641 752-4688. A photo of the toilet is posted on 1230kfjb.com and the 1230 KFJB Facebook page.
