The final grant for the Rebuild Marshalltown Fund with the Community Foundation of Marshall County was awarded at the Marshalltown Community School Board meeting on Monday night.

That is Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Marshall County, Julie Hitchens.  On Monday night Hitchens says they cleared out the account and granted $58,450.30 to the School District.

Hitchens says the committee was unanimous on selecting this project for the final grant.  Hitchens says they could not support every project that applied for this fund and there were some hard and emotional conversations.

Having a fund like this set up is something that Hitchens feels is the role of the Community Foundation in each County.
