On Friday night the Roundhouse was rocking for a doubleheader featuring the Marshalltown Bobcats and Fort Dodge Dodgers. The girls, who came into the night 6-1 faced a Fort Dodge team who had 1 player they needed to slow down to win the game, LJ Maehl. It wasn’t until the 2nd half when Maehl finally made her first shot of the game, and it was too little too late.
Even with the sloppy play by the Bobcats, their defense shut down Maehl and held the lead all game long. The Bobcats win 35-27, and they go into the Winter Break 7-1.
For the Boys it was the Gavin Misek show. Misek started in place of Drake Gersema and he scored 21 points and was fearless when shooting the 3pt shot. Kyle Smith, the Bobcats leading scorer and one of the best 3pt shooters in the state, finishes with 2 points and the Bobcats still win the game 53-33.
The teams are now off until next year, the next game is a boys only game when they face Council Bluff Jefferson on January 2nd at 2:30.
