The City of Marshalltown reminded residents on their Facebook page that yes, you can drop off your live Christmas trees off at the Marshalltown Compost Facility for no charge.  The compost facility only accepts live trees that have been cut and have no artificial items on it like ornaments, lights, tinsel, etc.

People can drop off their trees in the drop off area outside the gate at 900 Woodland Street in Marshalltown.  No Contractors, retailers, or trees from households outside the city limits of Marshalltown shall be allowed. This area is under camera surveillance.
