The Marshalltown City Council will meet this afternoon at 5:30. Among the items on the Agenda is the discussion of how to proceed with filling the vacant City Council seat in Ward 2. In a Friday memo, City Administrator Jessica Kinser informed Councilors indicated the Council could choose one of the four individuals interviewed on Friday, with a formal resolution to be acted on during the January 22nd meeting.
Also on the Agenda this evening is the first reading of an Ordinance for Licensing Massage Therapy Businesses.
The issue of massage therapy is also on the mind of the Ames City Council. the Ames Council tomorrow is slated to proclaim January 9th to the 16th as “Slavery and Human Trafficking and Awareness week”. The Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking would like the City of Ames to consider a similar ordinance regarding massage therapy businesses.
