April 10th is the date Governor Kim Reynolds has set for a special election for the vacant State Senate District 25 seat.
As of now, there are two candidates who have said they will seek the office; Annette Sweeney will join Tracy Freese in battling to replace the former Senate Republican Leader Bill Dix, who resigned this past Monday. The District 25 Senate Seat covers Butler, Grundy, Hardin, and Story Counties.
A Clutier man has announced his plans to run as a Democrat for the Iowa House District 72 seat.
Dave Degner is an instructor at Hawkeye Community College and drives a fuel delivery truck for a local family owners business on a part-time basis.
The House District 72 is made up of Tama and parts of Marshall and Black Hawk County. Republican Dean Fisher is the current State Representative.
