With the Harvest almost in the bins, farmers won’t just be sitting around over the next few months waiting for the Spring.

Steve Johnson is a Farm Management Specialist with ISU Extension. He’s travelling around Central Iowa talking about risk management for farmers. His subject? Does storing unpriced crops really pay? The answer, Johnson says is, it depends…on whether you store the crop on your farm or have to store it in a  commercial facility.

Johnson adds the big thing for farmers over the next few months is communication. Communicating the good and bad with those who have a stake in your operation.
