Japanese beetles are emerging in many parts of the Midwest and Channel Seed Technical Agronomist Whitney Monin says growers should scout soybean fields for the pest.
“Japanese beetles are out in the field right now really doing a lot of defoliation and damage,” she says. “So, something I would really think about if I was a producer and at that time I’m going across the top making those foliar fungicide applications that I would want some insecticide protection as well.”
She says famers should also be on the lookout for
diseases during this stretch of hot and humid conditions.
