Born December 11th, 1926 in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Albert and Karen (Lunde) Rasmusson.  Lillian graduated from Le Grand High School in 1945.

Lillian was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert C. Gummert on August 11th, 1946 at the Strand Lutheran Church in Dunbar.  Together they raised three beautiful daughters on their family homestead.  They were married for 68 years before Robert’s passing in 2015.

She worked for Martin-Marietta at the Ferguson location for 20 years before retiring.

Lillian was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillon, where she was a member of Ladies Aid and played as an organist for many years.  She ministered to others through her gift of music.  She also shared her gift as an organist at the Iowa Veterans Home for the Thursday service and played for weddings and funerals.

Lillian’s family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her.  She always loved to tease people.  She was known for making amazing pies and enjoyed making Robert’s favorite, black raspberry cherry.  True to her Norwegian roots, she would partake in the traditional Lutefisk dinner. Lillian also enjoyed taking bus trips to Branson.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Elaine (Don) Crouse of Marshalltown, Linda (Mike) Weitzell of Le Grand and Karen Campbell of Marshalltown; three grandchildren: Robert (Hallie) Crouse of Gilman, Ann (Chad) Plowman of Newton and Jenny (Chris) Jones of Marshalltown; seven precious great-grandchildren: Whitaker, Taylor, Cole, Kate, Clara, Riley and Rachel; and many other family and friends.

In death, Lillian rejoined her dear husband, Robert; her parents Albert and Karen; her siblings: in infancy, Lucille, Harvey Rasmusson, Nelvin Rasmusson, Arnold Rasmusson, Dr. Mildred Rasmusson and Maxine Wogen; and granddaughter Robin Renee Crouse.
