The University of Wisconsin Platteville has hired two new teaching and research team members as part of the new Dairy Innovation Hub effort. Ryan Pralle and Joseph Sanford will begin their new duties in August.
Sanford grew up on a farm near Madison, Wisconsin, and will
specialize in agricultural and biological systems engineering with a focus on
water management and runoff, and nutrient removal from drainage systems.
Pralle will specialize in ruminant nutrition and looks forward to studying data-driven
management and optimizing cow performance through nutritional grouping and
in-line milk prediction. He was raised near Humbird, Wisconsin at
Selz-Pralle Dairy, which is home to a world record producing Holstein.
Both will be mentoring student research projects along with their teaching and
research work.
