The ranking member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee says the House passage of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) this week brings important revisions to his district of North Missouri such as expanding the Lower Missouri River Basin Flood Risk and Resiliency plan.

Congressman Sam Graves says the bill will give the Corps of Engineers new construction authority for communities facing repetitive flooding events, “We’re also demonstrating that when we work with partnership instead of partisanship we can accomplish great things for the infrastructure and for the American people.”

He says the bill is critical for not only flood control but also navigation, ports, locks, dams, and other water resources infrastructure.
