A southwest Missouri farmer caught in a drought pattern this summer has finally gotten some steady rain. Kyle Kirby tells Brownfield they got three to four inches of rain last week but it’s too late for most of his corn, “We chopped about a third of our corn crop and put it in the silage bunker. That kind of tells the story on that.”
Kirby says only his irrigated corn is in good shape, “The early season corn kind of started denting and you know when that happens it’s hard to repair at that stage.
