Jolene Griffin of the United Dairy Industry of Michigan tells Brownfield for National Milk Day, January 11th, the checkoff is offering a virtual winter farm tour to continue the dialog started with elementary and high school students during the pandemic.
“We’re going to hear about how they care for their cows and their calves, we’re also going to hear about how winter affects the farm and the farmer,” she says.
She says the tour is a follow up to a summer virtual camp as part of their virtual farm tour series offered to schools as curriculum which also meets academic standards for students.
