American Soybean Association CEO Steve Censky says ensuring there is proper implementation of the Renewable Fuel Standard, including increasing volumes for biodiesel and advanced biofuels, is critical for soybean growers.
One third of all soybean oil produced in the U.S. goes into the biodiesel market.
“And what we’ve seen is the market potential unfortunately has been undermined some in recent years by small refinery exemptions granted by EPA as well as what we think is not aggressive enough targets set by EPA for growing the volumes,” he says.
