The stimulus package that passed the U.S. House over the weekend has more than $16-Billion dollars for ag assistance but some ag provisions did not survive.

Democrat committee leaders took out language that would have authorized federal payments for lost crops form high winds such as derechos which caused billions of dollars of damage to homes and farms in Iowa and several other states last summer.

Also dropped were references to seafood processing facilities and vessels for agriculture aid.
