Mercy Iowa City and Corridor Radiology will host the first ever Snippets of Hope with a goal of breaking a Guinness World Record, but they need your help! Start growing your hair or wait for that trim and plan to donate at least 8 inches of it on Saturday, September 29, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at an event in the Atrium of Mercy Hospital located at 500 E. Market Street in Iowa City.
To break the Guinness World Record, Snippets of Hope needs volunteers who are willing to donate hair that is at least 8 inches long at the event. Free hair cuts will be provided by our sponsors. All hair donated will benefit cancer patients who can’t afford wigs following chemotherapy. Wigs are donated through the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. Cancer survivors are also encouraged to attend and celebrate with free massages, refreshments, family activities, giveaways, prizes, photobooths and music for all. Cancer survivors will be invited to make the first cut on hair of those donating.
Walk-in haircuts are welcomed, but registration is preferred for hair donation time slots. To register or for more information visit: www.mercyiowacity.org/snippets-of-hope. Thank you to our sponsors P&G, Skin Deep Salon, Le Reve Salon and Spa, Tru Salon, Groovy Katz, and Thompson & Company Salon and Parlor.
