For over 100 years, KFJB has been committed to bringing listeners the local news and information that matters most. And now, we are proud to announce that News-Talk 1230 KFJB AM & 93.9 FM is the destination for everything agriculture in Central Iowa with “Iowa Ag Matters”.

“Iowa Ag Matters” on KFJB is a can’t miss hour long program that is tailored to farmers and those in the agricultural industry. From timely crop updates, livestock tips, agribusiness trends and more, this will be 60 minutes that cannot be missed and will have a large “tune in” factor!

“Iowa Ag Matters” is heard 11:00am – 12:00pm weekdays on KFJB, hosted by long time farm broadcasters Andy Petersen, Mark Magnuson, Riley Smith, Russ Parker and others trusted in the farming community.

“Iowa Ag Matters” is all about farming in Iowa. No matter if our listeners are tending to fields or managing livestock, KFJB is the first stop for agriculture news and information.

Andy Peterson

Andy has won multiple awards over the years, including the coveted Iowa Broadcast News Association Overall Excellence in Anchoring and been named a Friend of the Industry by several representative organizations. Andy also serves as Master of Ceremonies for dozens of banquets each year, including Celebration of Agriculture, and Public Address Announcer for various Iowa Fairs and Festivals as well as the East Central Iowa Pulling Association.

 

In his spare time, Andy enjoys giving back, serving as a board member for the Kirkwood Alumni Council, Wyoming Fair Association and others. He also will enter his 20th season as a high school and college sports official, and enjoys camping and golfing with his girlfriend Sabrina and her three children.

Mark Magnuson

Mark grew up in Spencer and graduated from Spencer High School in 2005. After graduation he attended the University of Nebraska and earned a journalism degree from the college of journalism.

Most recently, Mark was the play-by-play voice of the Spencer Tigers for KICD radio in Spencer Iowa providing play-by-play coverage for football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, softball, and baseball. Mark also hosted the daily midday show on More 104.9 (KMRR).

Mark serves the radio network as its field reporter and is a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters.

Riley Smith

A graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, Riley Smith adds digital expertise to the IARN team. He has deep roots in agriculture, growing up on a family farm near Griswold, Iowa.

Riley is no stranger to radio, with experience at KJAN radio in Atlantic, IA, and as music director at Northwest’s student-run radio station, KZLX. He brings value to the network not only with his broadcasting experience, but also with his skills working with video production, podcasting, and social media. Riley is also a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters.

Riley currently lives in Ankeny.

Russ Parker

Serving as Manager of Operations, Russ Parker has been part of IABN since its beginnings.  Along with partner Ken Root, the two started the network in 2010.  Ken retired in 2020 selling his share of the company to Russ.

A salesman and marketer by trade, Russ has spent his 45-year career listening to and implementing solutions for ag marketers, looking to extend their brands and grow their sales. Also, with a degree in Ag Journalism from Iowa State, Russ contributes to the network’s content via interviews and offering faith-based insight via the Weekend Ag Matters program.

Dustin Hoffman

Dustin has been in radio since 2007 and a farm broadcaster since 2014. In that short amount of time, Dustin’s work has been recognized at the local, state and national levels. Dustin was the 2016 Minnesota Farmer’s Union Ag Communicator of the Year and the 2017 recipient of the Doan Award. Dustin’s listeners have appreciated that he tells agriculture’s story from a personal and relatable point of view.

Dustin is the network’s broadcast supervisor and oversees all day-to-day programming functions. He is a member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting.

Dustin lives in Ankeny with his wife Vanessa, daughter Jaydee, and son Mattox.

Chris Belisle

Chris has been with the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network since its’ inception. He is a New England Native who currently resides in Connecticut with his wife Michelle and their three children. In his spare time, you will likely find him at one of the kids extracurricular activities.
