Marshalltown Mayor Jim Lowrance received a Community Impact Award from the Marshall County Regional Partnership during their annual banquet Thursday night at Dejardin Hall on the Iowa Valley Community College District campus in Marshalltown. The Mayor was humbled in receiving the award and credited the City Council and also city staff for their efforts. He says there is a lot is left to do but he feels that the city can get it done. The Partnership surprised him on Wednesday by presenting the award at City Hall because the Mayor could not make it to the Thursday evening banquet.
