The Cubs trailed 6-3 in the eighth and 7-6 in their final at-bat before Anthony Rizzo and Miguel Montero delivered RBI singles in the bottom of the 13th to give Chicago an 8-7 win against Pittsburgh. Willson Contreras smacked a two-run homer in the eighth, one inning before Jorge Soler’s solo blast forced extra innings. Josh Bell and Gregory Polanco homered for the Pirates, who are 1 ½ games behind the Cards for the second NL wild-card spot.
