Another week, another new quarterback, another win for the New England Patriots.

Jacoby Brissett started at quarterback for the Patriots, the first rookie starting QB for New England since 1993, and he passed his first NFL test with flying colors.

Brissett completed 11 of 19 passes for 103 yards, and ran for 48 yards on eight carries for the Patriots as they took advantage of three Houston turnovers to rout the Texans 27-0. His 27-yard touchdown run was the longest for a Patriots quarterback since 1976.

Brissett got the start over the injured Jimmy Garoppolo (gah-RAH’-puh-loh), who inherited the starting job when Tom Brady was suspended for “Deflategate.”

It was the Patriots’ first shutout win since 2012 and the first time the Texans have been blanked since 2003.

New England is 3-0 with one more game before Brady returns from his suspension.
