Facing financial issues, the Central Iowa Art Association will be laying off its two employees on Thursday.

The Marshalltown Times-Republican reports that the organization needs 20-thousand dollars by the first of the year to pay its bills.

Executive Director Keely Weeks says all scheduled events are proceeding as planned. That includes the Artist Holiday Show and Sale this coming Saturday. Weeks, who will be laid off, will be retained on a contractual basis to continue to oversee the organizations.
