A storm swept through the area Thursday morning during the 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. hours. Winds were clocked as high as 78 miles per-hour in the Albion area. There were numerous reports of tree damage. The Riverside Cemetery had to be temporarily closed because of tree damage and flag damage as the Avenue of the Flags had been put up prior to the storm’s arrival. Other tree damage was reported at 200 North 7th, at the American Legion Golf Course, and along South Center Street. A 67 mile per-hour wind gust and tree damage was reported at Reinbeck. Colo Nesco delayed the start of classes Thursday because of power outages, BCLUW and GMG sent students home early because of power outages as well. Around the state Denison clocked a wind gust of 87 miles per hour, and in Crawford County tornadic and straight line winds did damage to a train and the contents of its cars.
