The New Orleans Saints had no answer for the Atlanta Falcons’ ground attack Monday night.
Tevin Coleman ran for three touchdowns and Devonta (deh-VAHN’-tay) Freeman accounted for 152 of the Falcons’ 217 rushing yards in a 45-32 rout of the winless Saints. The two also combined for 89 receiving yards as quarterback Matt Ryan helped the Falcons improve to 2-1.
Ryan threw for 240 yards and two scores for the Falcons, who also reached the end zone on Deion Jones’ 90-yard interception return.
Drew Brees (breez) passed for 376 yards and three TDs but was picked off for a touchdown that put Atlanta ahead 45-25 early in the fourth quarter.
The Saints are 0-3.
