A storm did a number on parts of Iowa and rumbled and blew through the region Monday night. Marshalltown received 42 hundreths of an inch of rain and had a peak wind gust of 48 miles per hour and after a high yesterday of 73, the temperature dropped down to 35 by early Tuesday morning. State Center had a wind gust of 65 miles per hour and Ames had a wind gust of 67 miles per hour. A Tornado warning was issued for Parts of Poweshiek and Jasper Counties. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were in effect for Story, Jasper, Marshall, Hardin Grundy, Tama and Poweshiek Counties. There was small hail and tree limb damage in the Marshalltown area.
