South Hardin junior Brylie Zeisneiss captured the 3A shot put state championship yesterday at Drake, with a toss of 45 feet, one inch.

Zeisneiss now has a chance at making it two state titles in one meet, as she is the top seed in the discus competition, throwing today at 2 p.m.

The Ames girls’ team came in third in the prelims of the shuttle hurdle relay.

AGWSR leads in the 1A girls team standings;

South Hardin is tied for 2nd in 2A;

South Tama’s Keith Keahna  earned high jump title at state yesterday with a 6 foot seven inch leap.

Ames’ Japannah Kellogg place second in the hight jump in 4A action.

BCLUW’s  and Colo-Nesco’s boys shuttle relay teams qualified for the  1A  finals in prelims yesterday.

Gilbert boys’ 4×800-meter relay raced to third place 3A action.
