Folks are watching the Iowa River this morning, as the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from Minerva Creek in Albion to Salt Creek near Belle Plaine. The river at Marshalltown was just about 18 inches below flood stage while at Tama is was just under a foot below flood stage. The River could rise above flood stage over the next couple of days, but, for now, no major flooding is anticipated. That could change of course.
Many rivers and streams in northeast Iowa are already about flood stage this morning.
