A Van Horne woman was killed late Friday night in an accident on Highway 30 in Tama County.

Tamie Ann Cockrell was east bound near County ROad RR when a semi driven by Adam Nurre of Dyersville crossed the center line and struck her pick up.

the accident remains under investigation.

A hunter setting up deer blinds was run over by a Polaris Ranger on Saturday.

The Iowa DNR says James Whitson was preparing for a veteran’s hunt at the Reichelt Unit Area in Jasper County when David Drew accidently hit the accelerator instead of the break on the utility vehicle.

Whitsun was taken by helicopter to Iowa Methodist in Des Moines with unspecified injuries. The DNR is investigating the incident.
