After a public hearing yesterday, the Marshalltown City Council, by a four to three margin, approved a resolution to sell three lots on East State Street, including the lot the Senior Citizens Center building is on, to Landover Corporation to construct affordable housing on the block. Landover’s plan is contingent on approval for financing through the Iowa Financing Authority.

The City Council also approved the hiring of a new Parks and Rec Director. Geoff Hubbard received the approval. He is currently the recreation superintendent in Council Bluffs.
